Where can I learn Shibari in the Stuttgart area?
If you’d like to learn Shibari in the Stuttgart or Ludwigsburg area, you’ll find a wide range of courses, workshops, and community events with us at Sakura Rope.
Our rope school is based in Schwieberdingen near Ludwigsburg (close to Stuttgart) and welcomes people from across the DACH region—including Frankfurt, Munich, Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, as well as Austria and Switzerland.
At our Shibari and rope art school in the Stuttgart area (Schwieberdingen near Ludwigsburg), we teach everyone from beginners to advanced students who want to explore Shibari technically, aesthetically, and in terms of interpersonal connection.
Is Shibari dangerous?
Shibari is an intensive practice that requires mindfulness and solid knowledge. Relying only on books or online videos risks injury or unsafe tying, as they often omit important safety rules, proper techniques, or how to work with physical limits.
At our classes, you’ll learn Shibari in a safe, supportive environment. Step by step, we:
- Teach safety fundamentals
- Demonstrate techniques and knots correctly
- Practise communication and consent
Our workshops, rope jams, Basic courses and private lessons allow you to learn Shibari responsibly and safely – so you can experience the art of rope’s aesthetic and emotional depth.
Is Shibari only for people interested in BDSM or those with experience?
No. Many people who come to our workshops have no connection to BDSM or only limited experience with it.
For some, the aesthetic and artistic side of rope is what matters most; for others, it’s the connection, communication, or learning together as a couple. Others are drawn to the physical practice and hands-on work with rope.
Our workshops welcome different approaches to Shibari, Kinbaku, and rope bondage. What matters most is curiosity, mutual respect, and treating one another with care.
