The workshops are held in partnership with "Haltstelle Fachingen".

Together for a good cause

Haltstelle is a very special place, and we’re delighted to be teaching there again.

In January and February, we held our workshops without charging a fee or travel expenses and donated all proceeds.

We’d like to continue that spirit at our October sessions.

That’s why our workshops are available to book at a special reduced price (around 15–20% less).

Together, we’d like to donate the difference between this and our regular workshop price.

This time, we’re raising funds for „Emma hilft“, a therapy-dog team that supports people and their loved ones in hospices and palliative care units.

A donation box will be set up at the venue.

We invite you to put the difference between our price (or the usual price for workshops in the community) into the donation box—or simply whatever amount you’re able and would like to give.

It doesn’t have to be exactly the difference.

Every contribution helps, and together many small contributions can make something truly wonderful happen.

We’re looking forward to sharing rope together in October—and giving something back.

P.S. The Haltstelle organisers will provide catering for us on Saturday and Sunday
as their donation, and they’re also providing the venue free of charge!
You’ll find more information about catering in the registration form.

Takate Kote Intensive

 -upper Beginner and higher-

If you’d like to learn a reliable upper-body structure, prepare specifically for the next step towards suspension, or refresh your knowledge of TK (Kannuki Shibari), this workshop is for you. We’ll focus on just one structure and take the time to build it together carefully, check it and refine it.

The Takate Kote is one of the most important foundations for many advanced areas of Shibari, including suspension. Precisely because it’s so well known, it’s worth mastering one structure properly rather than simply collecting as many variations as possible.

That’s why in this intensive workshop, we’ll focus on just one Takate Kote variation based on Kannuki Shibari.

We’ll go through each step in detail and take a closer look. Where does the structure sit best on this particular body? How can we build the tension cleanly? What makes the tie stable? And where might it need adjusting?

If some time has passed since your foundational training and your next workshop, this refresher offers a chance to get back into rope, work through any uncertainties and strengthen your TK practice. It’s also for experienced riggers who have been tying Takate Kote for years. Sometimes it’s good to have someone take another look at your technique after a while: a fresh perspective can reveal small inaccuracies that have crept in over time and build new confidence in what has long felt familiar.

Preparing for Suspension

A well-executed Takate Kote that fits properly is an important foundation for the next step towards suspension.

This intensive workshop is also ideal for anyone planning to move on to suspension after a Basic workshop and wanting to strengthen their TK beforehand.

We won’t be working on suspension itself. Instead, we’ll build the practical foundation for it: a structure you know, can tie confidently, and understand better in terms of fit and possible adjustments.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for participants who are already familiar with a basic Takate Kote and have some hands-on experience tying it.

The refresher is an ideal follow-up to our Basic Workshop. It’s also suitable for anyone whose TK practice has become a little rusty and who’d like to refresh and reinforce the fundamentals.

👉 For Riggers

The refresher is an opportunity to go through your Takate Kote from the ground up and focus on the small details that can easily get overlooked in regular practice.

We’ll cover topics such as:

  • tying the familiar structure securely and consistently
  • refining rope handling and frictions
  • checking the tension and fit of each rope
  • adapting the structure to suit each body
  • recognising common uncertainties and potential errors
  • preparing your Takate Kote for more advanced applications

The refresher is especially useful for anyone who wants to keep practising their Takate Kote after the Basic workshop, but doesn’t yet feel fully confident or fluent in tying it.

👉 For Models

Models can benefit from a refresher too.

You’ll have the chance to experience the familiar structure again with awareness, and work with your rigger to pay closer attention to how it fits your body.

This includes noticing differences in pressure, tension and mobility, and better understanding which adjustments may work well for your body.

This helps build a shared understanding of how a well-fitting Takate Kote can feel and how rigger and model can work together to achieve that.

Intro to Suspension

An introduction to suspension

-upper beginner level and above-

Would you like to find out what happens when the rope begins to bear weight?

Or do you already have suspension experience and want to refresh your foundations and review your technique?

Intro to Suspension is our introduction to suspension—for those who are new to it, as well as experienced riggers looking to strengthen their foundations and take a fresh look at their approach.

This workshop isn’t about learning spectacular positions as quickly as possible. We take the time to cover the fundamentals that will help you progress into suspension safely and with confidence.

We’ll look at the equipment you need for suspension, how different suspension setups work, and how to use different lock-offs and backup systems.

From there, we’ll move step by step into practical application. We’ll keep returning to the question: what changes when we put weight on the rope, and what should we be mindful of? We’ll demonstrate the fundamentals, explain how they work and then give you plenty of time to put what you’ve learned into practice with our guidance.

Body movement and working with the center of gravity are also key parts of the workshop. How can a small weight shift change a position? What happens when the center of gravity moves? How can we use movement intentionally instead of simply compensating for it?

What we hope you’ll take away:

Suspension shouldn’t become a race to achieve the most spectacular positions as quickly as possible.

Nor should you simply leave knowing three more patterns or positions. Instead, you should feel increasingly confident when the ground disappears beneath your feet.

We want to give you a solid introduction where you can learn to sense load and communicate effectively with each other in a rope bondage context, using this as an opportunity to grow and develop confidence in suspension together, step by step.

Who is this workshop for?

👉 For those new to suspension:
You have little or no suspension experience and would like a solid introduction before trying full suspension.

👉 For experienced practitioners:
You already have suspension experience and want to refresh the fundamentals, review your technique or take away new ideas to inform your practice.

⚡ In either case, you must be confident tying a TK / Gote for a side suspension.

Up in the Air

The step into full suspension

-Participants "Intro to Suspension"-

What happens when the ground suddenly no longer matters?

In the In the introduction to Suspension, you experienced how load feels on the rope, how a body changes under stress, and how to safely set up your first (semi-)suspensions. Now we're moving on.r.

In Into the Air Building on the understanding from the intro, we now completely detach ourselves from the ground. As soon as this support disappears, wed Body Movement still This becomes relevant in a completely different way. The body no longer moves only within a predetermined position – it can swing, rotate, shift its center of gravity, and react to the slightest changes. Furthermore, a small change in weight can alter the entire position. We therefore consciously utilize this shift in the center of gravity and explore its expansion. of body movement and center of gravity in suspension and thus how they play together.

The workshop will first introduce you to full suspension. The system is located at the single point. We then extend the system at the bamboo. The additional structure opens up new possibilities for positioning, movement, and design, while simultaneously placing different demands on the planning and handling of the suspension.

What we hope you'll take away:

Full Suspension is about more than “going higher”! Coming completely off the ground also changes what's required of the Rigger and Model.

We'll look at how to make the transition from Semi to Full Suspension deliberate, how to manage the transfer of weight, and how to stay aware of the body, rope and movement during a free suspension.

We'll also look at how to keep questioning your own technique. Rather than simply copying set figures, we'll help you understand the principles behind a suspension and gradually apply them to different situations and bodies.

Who is this workshop for?

⚡Up in the Air is exclusively for participants of “Intro to Suspension” who want to take the next step in suspension.

This workshop builds directly on the fundamentals taught there. We'll assume you've gained experience with handling loads, equipment, safety systems, body movement and centre of gravity in the first module; these won't be covered from the beginning again.

That way, we can move straight on to the next step in module two 😉

👉 If you have no suspension experience yet, we recommend starting with Intro to Suspension on Saturday.

⚠️(*) Content will be adapted to the group's level and pace of learning.
