Takate Kote

🚀 Level: upper Beginner and Higher
Allerdings, DEN EINEN TK bzw.
✅ Key areas:
The workshop combines sound fundamentals with plenty of practical exercises.
We deliberately take time for repetitions, questions, and individual feedback.
Among other things, we deal with:
- Typical design choices from different styles
- Comparison of different construction principles (e.g., T-shape vs. V-shape; stemless constructions vs. variants with stem)
- Individual body adjustment options (shoulder mobility; hand positions)
- Balance between stability, comfort and function
- Active bottoming as a preventive component of restraint
- The third rope as a structural element
⚠️(*) The content will be adapted to the level and learning pace of the group.
👉 Target audience:
This workshop is suitable both for people who already work regularly with the TK/Gote and for those who want to take the next step in their development after completing a basic course. Especially if you are embarking on the path to suspension, this workshop can support you in deepening your skills.
The workshop is particularly valuable for riggers who regularly work with different rope partners and want to develop their skills, not just by tying a familiar pattern, but by selectively choosing structures. Models who regularly or in the future plan to work with different riggers will also benefit from a better understanding of the various possibilities of a rope rigger/gote, which can help them develop or adjust their own risk tolerance.
⚡Who is the workshop suitable for?
➡️For Riggers The workshop is interesting if you:
- you want to further develop your existing practice
- expand your repertoire of structural approaches and learn about or compare different structural approaches
- to better accommodate different body types and anatomical requirements and to customize your restraints more individually
- if you want to develop a better understanding of how to deal with tension, force patterns and structural decisions
- If you wish to achieve greater safety for further applications, such as suspension
- If you want to understand your Takate Kote more consciously as the basis for the next step towards suspension
➡️ ForModel / Ukete:
This workshop also offers models the opportunity to become more aware of their own bodies and their experiences with Takate Kote, and to better understand and expand their practice. If you have had less than ideal experiences with the classic Takate Kote posture, we encourage you to attend this workshop. We will show you individual approaches and methods to make it easier for you to assume and maintain this position.
You can learn:
- why different structures can feel different
- What factors influence whether a Takate Kote works well for your body?
- how different physical requirements can be taken into account
- how you can better classify and communicate your own perceptions.
🚀
Level:
upper beginner and higher
This workshop builds upon basic experience with a Takate Kote/Gote. It does not teach the fundamentals of upper body restraints and is not an introductory course to TK/Gote. We assume basic knowledge so that we can explore, compare, and further develop different structures together.
(If you are unsure whether your knowledge is sufficient, please feel free to contact us.)
As an active participant; riggers; Shibarites do you have:
- a completed basic workshop or comparable fundamental knowledge (SCT, Frictions, Rope Handling & Tension etc.)
- first practical experience and structural knowledge of upper body restraints with hand/arm position behind the back
- a smooth / calm rope handling
- Interest in analysis, exchange, and structural understanding
- We will discuss basic safety and anatomical knowledge, as well as your own risk profile and that of your model (how much risk am I willing to take, how much risk is my model willing to take, where do we meet, what agreements apply in a workshop setting).
As bottom/receiving partner; model; Ukete:
- If you have no anatomical/muscular impairment that prevents you from bringing your hands/arms behind your back, your flexibility, i.e., how far you can bring your arms behind your back, is irrelevant.
- Do you have an initial sense of your own physical and mental risk profile and the limits of your body in relation to potential dangers such as nerve damage or fainting, etc.?
- Have you discussed your risk profile with your bondage partner?
@ all:
- All participants should be aware of the basic safety rules and risks involved in Shibari.
⚠️The workshop is designed for participation in pairs (gender, sexual orientation and body shape are irrelevant - we stand for tolerance and diversity!).
➜ The content is extensive and offers a wealth of information as well as a challenging learning curve. Therefore, switching between active and passive roles is not possible.
