FUTOMOMO | Love it or hate it

Futomomo tut gerne mal weh. Die Frage ist: Muss er das?
 -upper Beginner and Higher-

👉WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • The origin story of our own Futomomo, including an analysis of different existing Futomomo approaches.
  • our own Futomomo, developed from it
  • another shin-friendly option
  • the conscious handling of Tention

👉 TARGET GROUP & REQUIREMENT:

The workshop is aimed atI am looking for riggers and models/bottoms who already have experience with Shibari and the Futomomo.

As a rigger, you should know at least one Futomomo variation and be familiar with its basic structure. You should be able to tie it independently and with control so that we don't get bogged down in the basics during the workshop. It doesn't matter which variation you've learned so far. We won't evaluate or "correct" it, but rather use it as a starting point to take a closer look together. We also encourage you to be open to not just copying existing patterns, but to examining them more closely.

As a model/bottom, you should know how a futomomo feels to you and be able to incorporate your perceptions accordingly during the bondage.

It doesn't matter at all which Futomomo you're familiar with. These diverse experiences are precisely what makes the workshop so interesting.

Because we don't want to look at Futomomo solely from the rigger's perspective. Especially as a model/bottom, you're not simply "the person on the rope." Your perception and experience are a crucial part of the process, regardless of whether you love it, hate it, or have simply endured it through gritted teeth.

Respectful interaction, informed consensus, and the protection of individual boundaries are always top priorities in our settings.

🤝Lecturer/Teacher:

Mel and Franky from Sakura Rope have been together for over 17 years and have been fascinated by the game of rope since the beginning of their relationship.
As instructors, you will jointly impart your profound and broad knowledge of rope bondage as a preventative process in both role-playing scenarios. At the heart of your teaching lies the analysis of the bondage process, the interplay of body, space, and energy, as well as the reflection on intimacy, control, and trust. Technical content is always embedded in broader contexts, such as anatomy, risk and consent models, aesthetic principles, and individual physical capabilities.
Mel and Franky pursue a deliberately open learning and teaching approach and are committed to continuous professional development. They draw on a broad foundation of knowledge, constantly expanded through regular training sessions, workshops, and exchanges with international teachers and artists. Key influences include Ren Yagami (JPN) and Sarca Martello (ITA), as well as the style of Akira Naka (JPN); since September 2023, they have been official instructors of the Iyasu Ropu method according to Sarca Martello.

Sakura Rope stands for a consensus-based, diversity-sensitive, and mindful teaching practice. Their workshops offer a structured, safe learning environment that allows for individual approaches and teaches rope bondage as a safe practice. Their teaching methodology is characterized by individual support, a high level of expertise, and sustainable knowledge transfer.

PS: You have been an integral part of the "Obscene" in Karlsruhe for 5 years and have been active at the "Passion" in Hamburg for 3 years, both as an artist and as a lecturer.

One Rope Predicament

Ein Seil — nicht dekorativ, sondern wirksam!
 -upper Beginner and Higher-

Macht entsteht dort, wo Optionen verschwinden.

Schwerpunkte:

  • Grundlagen und Mechanik von Predicament im Shibari
  • Aufbau einfacher Zwangshaltungen
  • Sicherheit, Kommunikation und Risikobewusstsein
  • Wahrnehmung von Belastungsgrenzen
  • Sicherheit, Abbruchmöglichkeiten und gegenseitige Verantwortung

👉 Target audience:
This workshop is aimed at Shibari practitioners who are interested in physically demanding, structured, and mindfully guided play situations. All roles are welcome.
We place great emphasis on safety, consensus, and clear communication. This workshop does not replace comprehensive Shibari training, but rather provides fundamental principles and approaches for responsible predicament.
Respectful interaction, informed consensus, and the protection of individual boundaries are always top priorities.

⚠️
IMPORTANT NOTE/ TRIGGER WARNING:
During the workshop, ropes will also be used in the neck/throat area. This requires increased attention, mindfulness, and responsible action. The workshop is exclusively for participants who are aware of the special responsibility and associated risks.
The entry requirements therefore exclude complete beginners from participation. We reserve the right to assess suitability based on our risk profile and preventative teaching style at the outset.
